Fruit flies and fungus gnats home in on bright yellow. These citrus-look sticky balls give them a target: peel off the film, stand a ball next to the fruit bowl, the compost caddy or your houseplants, and the sticky surface holds whatever lands on it. Ten in a pack, so you can cover every trouble spot at once.

Why gardeners like it
  • Bright yellow sphere catches insects from every side, not just the front like a flat card.
  • Stands on its own base on a counter, windowsill or in a pot.
  • Hole through the top so you can hang it from a branch, hook or window latch.
  • Looks like a little citrus fruit instead of a sheet of flypaper.
  • For fruit flies and fungus gnats around houseplants, kitchens and greenhouses.

Questions

How do I use it?

Peel off the protective film, then stand the ball on its base or thread a string through the hole and hang it near where insects gather. Handle it by the stand: the surface is very sticky.

Where should I put it for fungus gnats?

Right next to the pot, at soil level or just above it. Letting the top inch of soil dry out between waterings helps too.

When do I replace it?

When the surface is covered with insects or dust and stops catching. Then switch to a fresh ball.
